Moline Searching for Two Chiefs

Interviews will be held soon in the search for new police and fire chiefs for Moline.

Human Resources Manager, Alison Fleming, says the city received about 40 applications for each job by the September deadline, then the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners narrowed the lists to six or seven each.
The next step will be to interview the finalists.

The final choice will be made by City Administrator Doug Maxeiner, with the approval of the city council.

The new police and fire chiefs will replace Kim Hankins who led both departments until his retirement in July.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
