Scott County Juvenile Diversion Office

Scott County Juvenile Diversion Program

Scott County wants to do more to keep kids out of the court system. Tomorrow it will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for its first Juvenile Diversion office in downtown Davenport.

Director of the Juvenile Detention and Diversion Program, Jeremy Kaiser, says the new space will provide somewhere for the counselors to hold workshops and work with kids to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.

"Some programming space for out juvenile Diversion Program, which are community based detention alternative programs designed to provide treatment and some restoration type services for juveniles as an alternative to being placed in detention."

Up until now, Kaiser says the counselors have had to go to the children's homes.

The new Juvenile Justice Office is located in the Scott County Annex building.
