Moline Interviews City Administrator Finalists

Moline is inching closer to hiring a new city administrator. The city council will hold private interviews with two finalists Wednesday night, and three more Thursday night.

Seventh ward alderman Mike Waldron says one of the finalists currently works for the city. And he says council members will decide after meeting with all five what to do next - including whether to narrow the list further, and schedule additional interviews.

Moline received 50 applications for the vacancy created by the retirement of Lew Steinbrecher in November, and it's hoped the new city administrator can start working in mid- to late May.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
