Meet the Finalists for Davenport City Administrator

The next step in the search for a new Davenport city administrator is set for Monday and Tuesday. The three finalists will attend a public reception Monday night, and then be interviewed by the search committee on Tuesday.

The three are:

- Stephen Riley - town manager for Hilton Head Island, in South Carolina,

- Corri Spiegel - currently interim city administrator for Davenport,

- and Kevin Woods, the city manager in Stallings, North Carolina.

The reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm Monday at the River Music Experience in downtown Davenport.

Individual interviews, open to the public, will be held in city hall Tuesday, with Spiegel first at 8:30 am, Riley at 10:15, and Woods at noon. Then the committee is scheduled to go into executive session to talk about the finalists.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
