The next step in the search for a new Davenport city administrator is set for Thursday. The search committee is scheduled to hold a closed meeting to go over applications.
The city hired a consultant, Strategic Government Resources, to help find a replacement for Craig Malin who resigned last summer, and by last week's deadline, 34 people had applied for the job.
Davenport Human Resources Director Dawn Sherman says at Thursday's meeting the search committee will narrow the list of candidates. Then references will be checked, and the results discussed at the committee's next meeting in June.
No names will be released until they've accepted invitations for on-site interviews in July.
