Scott County supervisors have tentatively chosen a Missouri man to be the next county administrator. Wednesday the board announced Mahesh Sharma has accepted what's called a "conditional offer of employment."
Sharma is currently the city administrator in Raytown, Missouri, managing a staff of 224 and a budget of 30 million dollars.
Supervisors are scheduled to consider and formally approve his hiring, along with a contract, Thursday afternoon.
He'll replace Dee Bruemmer who's going to retire in June.
A national search resulted in applications from 36 people for the job, and that list was narrowed to three last month - the other two finalists were Galesburg city administrator Todd Thompson and Muscatine city administrator Gregg Mandsager.
