The Quad City Airport hopes to attract more retail development after buying more property. Yesterday, the airport authority voted to buy Bud's Skyline Inn and the owner's house next door for 905,000 dollars.
Director, Bruce Carter, says the land will generate property tax revenue, and the airport will receive rent.
The Quad City Airport already bought the former Flick's property and plans to market the entire nine acres. Carter hopes a major restaurant will be interested in the location which is also near the interstate.
Bud's Skyline Inn closed nearly two weeks ago after 30 years in business.
