I-74 Bridge Delays Continue

Iowa Dept of Transportation

After several weeks of traffic tie-ups on one side of the I-74 bridge between Moline and Bettendorf, delays will now affect the other side, for several weeks.

Today crews began repairing the left lane of the west-bound side of the bridge, then next week will move to the right lane - and those repairs will continue through August 30th.

The Iowa Department of Transportation says when workers switch lanes next Monday (8/17), they will also have to close the State Street off-ramp in downtown Bettendorf. That means the first exit will be Middle Road.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
