Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba is hospitalized after having a bad reaction over the weekend to some antibiotics he was given for an insect bite. As a precaution, he's receiving care at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
His doctor says he should take a week off to fully recuperate, and is expected to make a full recovery within ten days.
Mayor Pro Tem Barney Barnhill will chair tonight’s Committee of the Whole meeting and fill in as the mayor recovers.
