A Minnesota firm may soon take over management of the Rock Island County nursing home. Tuesday night, the county board approved negotiating a contract with Health Dimensions Group of Minneapolis to run the Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.
Kim Callaway-Thompson, chair of the board's nursing home committee, says the board received four management proposals for Hope Creek, and she thinks Health Dimensions fit their criteria the best.
The company already manages about 30 similar facilities in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
Callaway-Thompson says when new Rock Island County administrator, Dave Ross, starts working next month, one of his first jobs will be to negotiate a contract with Health Dimensions Group. Then it could begin managing Hope Creek in June.
