U.S. Secretary of the Army, John McHugh, Will Visit Arsenal Island

Department of Defense

A top federal official will visit the Quad Cities tomorrow to discuss the future of the Rock Island Arsenal. Secretary of the Army, John McHugh, will visit the island and tour the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center, then meet privately with local officials, plus Illinois U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, 17th district Congresswoman, Cheri Bustos, and lieutenant governor, Sheila Simon.

Senator Durbin chairs the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, which is considering a bill that would invest $225 million in jobs on Arsenal Island and at other arsenals across the country.
McHugh is scheduled to hold a press conference at 11:45 am tomorrow at Ben Butterworth Parkway in Moline.
