Mississippi River in QC to Hold Steady

National Weather Service

After falling three quarters of a foot since Sunday, the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities is expected to hold at half a foot above flood stage into next week.

The Mississippi River at Muscatine has also fallen about a foot since Sunday, but is still nearly a foot above flood stage. It should remain relatively unchanged in the coming days, as it is only expected to fall one third of a foot by next Wednesday.

The city of Davenport says Beiderbecke Drive will reopen by the end of the day tomorrow. Credit Island and the trail between Marquette Street and Credit Island will remain closed, and the riverfront walk between LeClaire Park and Marquette Street is also still closed. Modern Woodmen Park's flood protection will also remain intact.

At Moline, the Rock River fell below flood stage on Monday, and is now half a foot below it. The forecast says it will fall slowly by just under a foot by this time next week. The Rock at Joslin will fall below flood stage on Saturday.
