Freeze Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Monday night. That's because cold air moving into the area under clear skies will result in freezing temperatures across much of our area.

It's expected to be in the upper 20s and lower 30s.

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will hurt or kill uncured crops and other sensitive vegetation. After midnight, 10 to 15 mile per hour winds will make outdoor protection of plants more difficult and ineffective. So bring your plants indoors if possible.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
