Brower Headlines Environmental Film Fest

A "name" that's synonymous with conservation and the environmental movement will be the featured speaker this weekend at the 12th annual Environmental Film Fest. Ken Brower is a son of David Brower,

considered the father of the modern enviromemental movement and the first executive director of the Sierra Club.

Herb Trix has more.

The 12th annual Environmental Film Fest will be held Saturday (3/11) in Olin Auditorium at Augustana College in Rock Island. Films will focus on how we've lost touch with nature, the future of energy, and "Disobedience," subtitled "the rise of the global fossil fuel resistance" around the world.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
