Three tornadoes touched down near the Quad Cities on Thursday, with winds as high as 100 miles per hour. That's the conclusion of today's survey by the National Weather Service.
It says the first touched down west of Maysville in Scott County at 5 pm - lasted nearly half and hour, and its path was 22 miles long and about 100 yards wide.
Number two started about 5:40 pm, near the Clinton Airport, lasted about 20 minutes, and traveled on the ground for 13 miles, to several miles north of Fulton.
Yesterday's third tornado touch-down started north of Fulton, and traveled about 7 miles to an area east of Thomson.
No injuries have been reported, and the tornadoes mainly damaged farm buildings and trees.
