Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka and Tom Cross, the republican candidate for treasurer, want voters to "follow the money" when they cast their ballots tomorrow. This morning at the Quad City Airport, they joined congressional candidate, Bobby Schilling, and others to rally GOP supporters.

Topinka says Illinois is in big financial trouble, and the needs her to be re-elected and Tom Cross to be elected treasurer. She says together, they will stop legislators from breaking their promise that they'd allow the income tax hike to end this year.
Tom Cross, the republican leader in the Illinois House, says the state constitution mandates a balanced budget. But the General Assembly approved this year's budget with 400 million dollars more in expenditures than projected revenue.

Governor and legislators should follow the law, and Cross will take Madigan to court if necessary to hold the IL General Assembly accountable. His top priority will be a balanced budget.

He and Topinka also encouraged Quad Cities residents to vote for Jim Wozniak, who's running against House Representative Mike Smiddy in the 17th district, and Neil Anderson, the GOP state senate candidate in the 36th district. His opponent is State Senator Mike Jacobs.

Cross and Topinka's Follow the Money Tour began yesterday in Rockford and Springfield. This afternoon, they also planned to visit Marion and Peoria.
