Meet the Finalists for Bettendorf Superintendent

Bettendorf School District

The two finalists for superintendent of the Bettendorf schools will visit the district on Thursday. Michelle Morse and Robert Callaghan will meet with staff, students, parents, and community members, then answer questions at community forums in the evening.

Questions can be submitted starting at 5:30, and the same questions will be asked of both candidates - Morse from 6 to 6:50 pm, and Callaghan from 7 to 7:50.

Attendees at the forums at Mark Twain Elementary School can then give their comments to the board, which will interview both after the forums. The Bettendorf board plans to make a final decision at its meeting on February 18th.

Currently Morse is the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for the Newhall School District in Valencia, California. Callaghan is superintendent of the Newton school district in Newton, Iowa.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
