Hinojosa to Address Knox Commencement

Knox College

An award winning journalist will be this year's commencement speaker at Knox College in Galesburg. Monday the college announced that Maria Hinojosa will address the graduating class on June 7th.

Hinojosa is the anchor and executive producer of the weekly radio show "Latino USA," and during her career has reported for PBS, CBS, WNBC, CNN, and NPR. She's also a new contributor to the show, CBS Sunday Morning and a frequent guest on MSNBC.

She'll join a list of recent graduation speakers at Knox, including Barack Obama, Dick Durban, Eva Longoria, and Stephen Colbert.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
