St. Ambrose University
After running St. Ambrose University's diversity office and disability services, Ryan Saddler is now in charge of a new initiative.
Diversity checks a box. Inclusion gives us an opportunity to have a sense of belonging. I'm embraced. I'm welcome here at the table.
This week, the Davenport college announced Saddler is its new Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
He's led the university's Diversity Workgroup since 2006, and it has already adopted a comprehensive Diversity Hiring Plan. Saddler says the goal is to increase the diversity of St. Ambrose faculty and staff.
Saddler is known in the Quad Cities for working with many community groups to improve relationships, and teach people about diversity, equity and inclusion. He's also starting a new organization called, QC Black Professionals in Higher Education.
