No Change Proposed for BHC Tuition
Tuition at Black Hawk College may stay at its current level for the third year in a row. Next week, the board of trustees will consider a proposal from Chief Financial Officer Steve Frommelt to keep tuition at 149 dollars per credit hour.
"Just like all of our operations that rely on state funding, we're assuming the state will continue to fund higher ed at existing levels."
Last month, trustees also approved no change in the tax rate for the Black Hawk College District - a sign Frommelt hopes shows students and district residents that the college is financially stable.
After the first reading next week, the second reading and final approval will probably be held at next month's board meeting (2/28).
The "new" tuition rate officially takes effect when summer classes begin in June.
