Black Hawk College has released the names of four finalists in the search for a new president. They're top administrators at community colleges in four states.

- Ted Lewis is Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer for Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, Tennessee.

- Rick Pearce is currently serving as Vice President for Learning and Student Success at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois.

- at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City, Ann Valentine is Executive Dean.

- and Tim Wynes is President of of Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College in Minneapolis.

All four will come to the East and Quad Cities campuses this month for two days of  interviews, tours, and community meetings, starting with Doctor Rick Pearce on Monday and Tuesday April 9 and 10. He'll be followed on Wednesday and Thursday by Doctor Ann Valentine ( 4/11 & 12 ).

One of the four will succeed Bettie Truitt who retired in December. Since then John Erwin has been serving as interim president.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
