Iowa School Board Elections

votestickers.JPG

Polls will be open Tuesday in the Iowa Quad Cities, and across the state, for school board elections. And there are races to decide in all four school districts in Scott County.

Seven candidates are on the ballot for three seats on the Bettendorf School Board, and in Davenport six people are competing for three seats.

Four names are on the ballot in the North Scott district for three openings on the board.  And in Pleasant Valley, where members are elected from districts, two people are competing to represent the 2nd district.

Polls will be open from 7 am until 8 pm.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
