The Bettendorf school board will soon have to start looking for a new superintendent. Friday the district announced Doctor Theron Schutte will leave next month to take over as superintendent of schools in Marshalltown.
He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1981.
Schutte has led the Bettendorf district since 2009.
He was one of 23 applicants for the job, and one of the four finalists. Schutte is scheduled to start his new job on July lst and take over from Marvin Wade who's leaving for another job in Kansas.
