A recent multi-million dollar donation will help students pursue a career in agriculture. Deere and Company has announced a five million dollar donation to the National FFA Organization that will be distributed over the next five years.
Ryan Tate, from the FFA, says the money will go toward student scholarships and career development training, such as farm business management.
The John Deere donation will also fund local FFA chapters so that students can learn about agriculture in middle school and high school.
Deere has worked with the FFA for the past 73 years to fund chapter awards and leadership conferences. The National FFA has more than seven thousand chapters, including ones in North Scott High School, Sherrard, Geneseo, and Rockridge.
