Before a final vote by trustees, Black Hawk College will hold two community forums on the budget proposed for next year. One will be held tonight at the east campus in Kewanee, with the second next Monday (6/15) at the Quad Cities campus in Moline.
Chief financial officer, Steve Frommelt, says the 78 million dollar budget for the fiscal year beginning July lst is nearly the same as this year.
It forecasts level enrollment.
The new facilities and programs include the new welding and skilled trades center on the east campus, and the new health science center opening this fall in Moline. And total enrollment should be about 63-hundred students.
Although state funding for Black Hawk College has not yet been set, Frommelt believes it will drop next year by about 2 1/2 per cent.
Trustees are now scheduled to take a final vote on the budget at their meeting on June 25th.
