A family-owned business in the Quad Cities has been sold to a private investment firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the end of January, Summit Park, LLC bought a controlling interest in Elliott Aviation, the Fixed Base Operator at the Quad City International Airport.

A press release from the company says Herb Elliott founded the company 84 years ago in Moline. Three locations now provide aircraft maintenance, avionics, paint, interior, parts, accessories, FBO services, and appraisals. Elliott Aviation also sells jets, and owns a manufacturing brand called Elliott Technologies. The other two branches are in Des Moines and Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Elliott CEO Greg Sahr says Summit Park specializes in helping founder-owned businesses grow.
