Oberhaus to Manage Chamber's Finances

Rock Island School District  Superintendent, Dr. Mike Oberhaus, will go to work for the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. Today, the chamber announced it's hired Oberhaus as its new Vice President of Finance and Administration. He already announced his retirement next summer.

Before serving as Associate Superintendent and Superintendent, Oberhaus was the school district's comptroller, treasurer, and clerk for 19 years. In all, he has more than 35 years experience in finance and administration. Dr. Oberhaus is a certified public accountant and graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport. He earned his MBA from the University of Iowa.

At the Quad Cities chamber, he'll oversee the finances of all its divisions, plus manage human resources and information technology. Oberhaus will begin working for the chamber part-time next month. After he retires from the Rock Island School District at the end of June, he'll switch to full-time.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
