Deere to Acquire Carbon Fiber Manufacturer

Deere and Company plans to buy a private business that makes carbon fiber technology products. King Agro is based in Valencia, Spain and also operates a factory in Campana, Argentina.

Three years ago, King Agro started working with Deere to develop and distribute carbon fiber booms for sprayers. Farmers use them to apply weed-killers, pesticides, fertilizers and other nutrients to their fields.

King Agro is a family-owned business with 180 employees. It's been developing and making carbon fiber products for 30 years. Deere says the company will retain its brand name and logo.
