The cost of water is going up for residents and businesses in eastern Iowa. Monday, the Iowa Utilities Board approved a rate hike of 10.4 per cent for the Iowa-American Water Company.
It serves 63,000 customers in the Iowa Quad Cities and Clinton.
Last April, the company requested a 13.7 per cent increase and implemented an interim increase in May.
Since the request was filed, the utilities board received public comments, held public meetings in the Quad Cities and Clinton, and held hearings in Des Moines.
