Renters in the Quad Cities are eager for an old school to be renovated into apartments. A couple of developers are working together on the project -- the old Pierce school in the Village of East Davenport.
All the asbestos and lead paint abatement has been completed. A crew is now demolishing parts of the building that have no historical significance. It's also removing old infrastructure, such as boilers. The school was built in 1899.
