People who are interested in volunteering for the American Red Cross can learn more about the organization on Thursday evening. A "volunteer open house" is being held from 5:30 to 6:45 at the American Red Cross Chapter House in Moline.
One volunteer, Dan Hayes, says the open house is a great way to learn about the different opportunities the organization has to offer.
"The open house is typically pretty informal. They really go into what the interests of the attendees are, and we give a little presentation of what the Red Cross is and what it does, and many opportunities that people have to volunteer."
The Red Cross says there are opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally for people to help "achieve their mission."
The chapter house is located at 1100 River Drive in Moline. The Red Cross has monthly open houses, with future dates set for October 17th, November 20th and December 19th.
