A Bigger, Better VA Clinic Opens in Davenport

U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs

Soon, veterans in the Quad Cities will have more options to get the medical care they need. On Monday, April 1st, the Iowa City VA Health Care System will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for a brand new outpatient clinic in Davenport.

It will replace the nearly 30-year old clinic in Bettendorf, and offer new services. The Bettendorf clinic currently serves around 9,000 patients, but the new Davenport clinic is bigger and will serve an additional 2,400 veterans. It's located in the 28-hundred block of West Locust Street.

The new VA clinic will also provide more specialized care, including physical therapy, audiology, optometry, podiatry, chiropractic care, acupuncture, a pharmacy, and mental health services. The project cost around $4.1 million dollars. And the Iowa City VA Health Care System has already hired 7 new staff members to join those being moved from Bettendorf.

The new location will help cut travel times to appointments for Scott County's roughly 12,000 veterans.
