Seidler Retiring

UnityPoint Health-Trinity

The leader of one of the hospital groups in the Quad Cities will retire in the spring. Wednesday, UnityPoint Health-Trinity announced Rick Seidler will step down from his posts as President and CEO on May lst.

Seidler has worked in health care for 40 years, including the last 21 with UnityPoint Health. He first spent 12 years with its affiliate in Waterloo, then came to Trinity in the Quad Cities in 2010.

He's credited with expanding access to health care in the Quad Cities, including behavioral health services and the opening of a state-of-the art heart center, plus expanding the BirthPlace at Trinity Bettendorf and setting up a joint venture with the Mississippi Valley Surgery Center.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
