Record Flood of 2008 - Ten Years Later

The record flood for the Quad Cities was 1993, but for Cedar Rapids and eastern Iowa it was 2008 - and ten years later restoration and replacement work is still going on.

On Midwest Week, Herb Trix's guest is Brian Morelli, reporter for The Gazette, in Cedar Rapids.

You can also hear Midwest Week Fridays on WVIK at 6:20 pm during All Things Considered.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
