It's the end of an era for the Bettendorf riverfront. Over the weekend, the former Isle of Capri casino boat left the city, where it had been docked for more than two decades.
Last month, the American Queen Steamboat Company, from Memphis, Tennessee, announced it bought the riverboat, and will renovate it into a new cruise ship, called the American Duchess.
The American Duchess will be the company's third river cruise boat, and could be used for Mississippi River cruises by the spring.
The Isle of Capri sold the riverboat after building a land-based casino. It opened last spring.
