It's a bit earlier than usual, but a sure sign of the approaching holidays made its annual appearance Tuesday. Thanks to a donation, a 35-foot blue spruce Christmas tree is now standing next to the iWireless Center in Moline.
The center's director of operations, Kevin Snodgrass, says his staff will spend the next month wiring and putting 30,000 lights on the tree. And it'll be lit next month during the annual Lighting of the Commons ceremony.
The tree was donated by Chris Zimmer of Moline, with help from Hampton Cranes and Marty's Tree Service.
The Lighting of the Commons is now set for November 19th.
