Agencies in Rock Island Township will hold open houses this weekend, to show residents what their government offers the community. Saturday, Rock Island will celebrate Illinois Township Day.
Rock Island Township Assessor, Brenda Carmen, says her office will be open for residents to meet the staff, talk about property assessments, or even see old photos of their homes.
Residents can also meet representatives from the Evening Meal Food Site, Sacred Heart food pantry, the NAACP, and other agencies.
Also Saturday, the Rock Island Police Department will hold a K-9 demonstration at 1 pm. And the Rock Island Fire Department will have a truck display from noon to 1 pm.
To celebrate Illinois Township Day, Rock Island Township agencies will be open from 11 am to 2 pm Saturday.
