Quad Cities Marathon This Weekend

Quad Cities Marathon

The annual Quad Cities Marathon is this weekend, and it could affect your travel plans. Saturday at 7 am, River Drive in downtown Moline will be closed, from 12th to 15th streets.

On Sunday starting at 7 am, the Government Bridge, connecting Davenport to the Arsenal Island, will also be closed. Residents who want to watch participants run across the Rock Island Arsenal will have to use the Moline gate before 7:30 am.

And, just one lane will be open on the Iowa-bound side of the I-74 bridge. River Drive off and on ramps for the I-74 bridge will be closed until 8 am, as well as the Bettendorf State Street exit ramp.

But, Centennial Bridge will be open to traffic during the Marathon on Sunday.

This weekend is the 19th annual Quad Cities Marathon. About 6,000 people are expected to participate in the 5K race, which begins and ends in downtown Moline.
