QC Man Arrested in Thailand

The long arm of the law has reached out from the Quad Cities all the way to Thailand. That's where a Moline man was arrested on Sunday, suspected of kidnapping.

East Moline police say they began looking for 48 year old Daniel Glaus two weeks ago after the mother of their 6 year old son reported that the child had not been returned to her after visitation with his estranged father. The father had visitation rights, but not custody.

During their investigation, police concluded Glaus and the child had left the country, and with help from several federal agencies including Homeland Security and the State Department, he was located in Bangkok, Thailand. He was arrested for an immigration violation and is awaiting deportation.

The child was flown back to the US Tuesday morning, and re-united with his mother.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
