Part of the Bettendorf library will reopen next week while repairs continue. But patrons will have to use the back door. Last Friday, a broken pipe caused significant water damage on the first and second floors. After a media a tour of the damaged areas early Tuesday morning, at 9:00 the east entrance of the Bettendorf library will open to the public.
Crews will continue to fix up the front section of the library which will remain closed along with the main entrance and Dewey’s coffee shop. Most library services will be available, with a few exceptions. The drop-off window and upstairs meeting rooms will remain closed. Materials from other libraries will not be delivered. And programs that'll have to wait include read to a dog, notary and proctoring services, plus SHIIP appointments.
Be sure to check the Bettendorf library online calendar since some events have been canceled or moved to the high school.
