Clinton County Receives State Disaster Aid

Quad Cities National Weather Service

Clinton County will receive state help after severe storms and tornadoes earlier this week. Today, Governor Terry Branstad issued a disaster proclamation for Clinton County.

The National Weather Service reports two tornadoes touched down in Clinton County on Tuesday, injuring three people and damaging mobile homes and other buildings.

Thanks to the governor's declaration, residents can receive up to $5,000 grant money to be used for home and car repairs, food, clothing, and temporary housing.

To be eligible, a family of three must have an income of $40,000 per year or less. They have up to 45 days to apply.

Additional state resources will also be available to Clinton County for any storm damage it suffered.
