Arsenal Island Storm Damage

Storm damage on Arsenal Island from 3/15 storm.

Tuesday night's storms caused significant damage on Arsenal Island. Today the Garrison reports numerous downed trees, one building lost its roof, and the eastern half of the island lost power until mid-morning.

One wind gust tore the roof off the Auto Craft shop, and debris damaged a police car two blocks away, but did not cause any injuries.
Some buildings suffered water damage, but so far there are no reports of damage to housing on the island.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
