A really big prostate appeared in the lobby of Genesis Medical Center in Davenport Tuesday. The ten foot high inflatable gland was set up for one day to help promote Prostate Cancer Awareness month.
Prostate cancer is second only to skin cancer as the most common cancer among men - and one of every 7 men will be diagnosed during their lifetime.
Genesis R-N, Wendy Ballou, says a slow but steady flow of people stopped by to learn about the display, and pick up brochures.
Once they turn 50, Ballou says men should start getting tested, including the PSA flood test. 60 per cent of prostate cancer cases are diagnosed in men age 65 and older - but it is treatable if discovered early.
