Niabi Zoo Renovates Giraffe Building

Niabi Zoo
The baby giraffe that died earlier this year.

Following the announcement of two giraffe deaths at Niabi Zoo, some changes have been made to the animal's exhibit. The zoo in Coal Valley announced today it's completed renovations to its giraffe building, to enhance the level of care for its giraffe herd.

Renovations include a new textured floor in the giraffe holding stalls, that will help keep the animals' hooves trimmed to a proper length. There's also a new wall coating, which will help keep the stalls virus and bacteria free.

The floor and wall systems are specially developed to withstand the zoo environment and offer enhanced safety benefits.

The Niabi Zoo will begin its fall hours beginning September 14th, and will close for the year after November 1st.
