St. Paul Hosts Conversations on Poverty

St. Paul Lutheran Church

Some Quad Cities residents are gathering to talk about the the impact of poverty and how to lessen it. Tonight is the first in a series of conversations about poverty, hosted by St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.
Spokeswoman Ann McGlynn says this is the first time St. Paul has hosted a series like this. And, she hopes it will allow residents to see poverty in a different way.

St. Paul will host one conversation a month through the spring. The first conversation will be led by social worker and consultant, Barb Brunkan, and will work to identify what poverty looks like in our community.

McGlynn says they'll ask people to think about one thing they can do differently in their lives, after coming to the conversations and thinking about poverty in a new way.

The first conversation in the series, Rethinking Poverty, will be held tonight at 7 pm, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.
