CASI Asks QC Residents to Be a Fan to Seniors
As temperatures rise this summer, so does the risk of heat strokes for seniors. That's according to the Center For Active Seniors in Davenport, which is offering free box fans to seniors who need one to stay cool.
Cheryl Frame, from CASI, says it's the 10th year the "Be a Fan to Seniors" program. She says the community has a responsibility to protect vulnerable residents from dangerous summer conditions.
She says CASI typically gives 50 fans a year to seniors in the Quad Cities, and fans will be offered all summer long.
To qualify for a fan, residents must be at least 50 years old, and show identification. Quad Cities residents can either donate cash or new box fans, at CASI on West Kimberly Road in Davenport.
