American Pickers Coming to Iowa

Antique Archeology and American Pickers

The stars of "American Pickers" are returning to Iowa next month. In July, they'll stop at their home base in LeClaire, and travel across the state looking for private collections.
LeClaire Tourism Manager, Cindy Bruhn says Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz visit their Antique Archeology store in town about every 4 to 6 weeks. The two buildings display souvenirs and offer antiques for sale.
It's also one site where the pickers film their TV show on the History Channel. And, it's significantly boosted tourism in the city.

She says it's hard to quantify the economic impact the show has had on LeClaire. But, watching "American Pickers" is one of the most common ways people find out about her city. And, the store attracts about one-thousand visitors a day, even when big events, like Tug Fest, are taking place.

The American Pickers are currently looking for leads on private collections in Iowa, before they visit the state next month.
