Genesis Debut at Niabi

Niabi Zoo

One of the newest residents of the Niabi Zoo will make his public debut tomorrow.

The baby giraffe named Genesis was born in February, but has been kept away from public display to let him adjust to the new sights and sounds of the zoo, now that's open for the season.
After accidentally being stepped on by his mother, Genesis has been fitted with an ankle brace to help heal a leg injury.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
