Mallards Prepare for Playoffs

Now that the regular season is over, the Quad City Mallards finally know who they'll face in the first round of the ECHL playoffs.

In their final game Saturday, the Mallards beat Rapid City and finished third in the Central division. And that sets up a first round, best-of-seven series with the Rush who finished second.
Game 1 will be played at Rapid City on Friday (4/17), followed by game two on Saturday, also hosted by the Rush.
Then the series will come to the Quad Cities for game three the following Wednesday (4/22), and game 4 two nights later (4/24), also at the I Wireless Center.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
