The Deere Classic golf tournament isn't the only title sponsorship for Deere and Company. This weekend in Houston, the American Quarter Horse Association is hosting the John Deere Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Championships.
Association spokesman, Leman Wall, says it's the second year Deere has been title sponsor. But the equipment manufacturer has worked with the group for more than ten years.
More than 70 teams of cowboys or cowgirls and their horses traveled to the Houston Rodeo from all over the world to compete in various categories. They maneuver through a course, using pistols or rifles to shoot balloon targets. Scoring is based on speed and accuracy.
The John Deere Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Championships continue through tomorrow, and the action is streamed live at RodeoHouston dot com.
